NON-REMOVABLE PROSTHETICS: CROWNS AND BRIDGES
Crown: the replacement that covers the whole tooth to restore its shape, size and functionality. Based on their material, they are divided into metal-ceramic, full ceramic and zirconia crowns. In modern dentistry, zirconia crowns are now often used on posterior teeth as they combine durability and aesthetics in contrast to metal-ceramic crowns which lack the aesthetic element. Full ceramic crowns are mainly used on front teeth for which the aesthetic requirements are higher.
Bridge: may be suggested when one or more teeth are missing; a bridge may be used to replace them.
Full or partial dentures are removable prosthetics that replace some or all teeth missing from the whole or part of the dentition.
